Dr. Munteanu Valentin has been appointed interim head of the ICU department at the 'Sfânta Maria' Hospital in Iași, after the death of seven children due to an infection.

The 'Sfânta Maria' Emergency Clinical Hospital for Children in Iași has announced the appointment of Dr. Munteanu Valentin as the interim head of the ICU, a decision made by the Board of Directors on October 23, in accordance with Law 95/2006. Dr. Munteanu, a primary ICU physician and associate professor at the 'Grigore T. Popa' University of Medicine and Pharmacy, will take over the responsibilities following the recommendations of the Ministry of Health. This appointment comes just ten days after Dr. Veronica Leonte, the new manager of the hospital, announced the temporary assumption of the position by Dr. Valentin Olaru. The measures were requested by the Minister of Health in the context of the tragedy in September, when seven children died due to infection with the Serratia Marcescens bacteria.
