In the context of the reforms proposed by the Bolojan Government, the Ministry of Transport has decided to grant a gross monthly allowance of 46,560 lei (approximately 27,200 lei net) for each member of the Board of Directors of the National Company Bucharest Airports (CNAB). This decision was criticized by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, who emphasized that the allowances for management at state transport companies have increased significantly. The Proprietatea Fund, a minority shareholder with 20% of the shares, proposed a lower allowance of 19,885 lei gross, but this was rejected.
The Fund accused the Ministry of Transport that the rejection of its proposals regarding corporate governance will hinder the listing of CNAB on the stock exchange and will affect investments in infrastructure. Among the rejected proposals are the resumption of the selection of the financial auditor and the establishment of a fair remuneration for the members of the Board. CNAB reported a profit of over 600 million lei in 2024, and the Romanian state holds 80% of the shares.
