Interim Minister of Economy, Irineu Darău, announced an increase in the gross monthly allowance of the members of the IAR Brașov Board of Directors from 4,720 to 20,400 lei. The decision was announced on Wednesday, after the minister signed the mandate through which the state, as a shareholder, conditions remuneration on objective indicators, not political affiliations.
The new calculation formula takes into account the company's size, turnover, number of employees, profitability, investments, status as a listed company, and the complexity of the mandate. The level of the allowance was also endorsed by AMEPIP.
IAR Brașov, a strategic company for the aerospace and defense industry, reported a turnover of approximately 441 million lei and a net profit of 48 million lei for 2025. Approximately 24.5 million lei of the profit was transferred to the state budget in 2026, while the company has ongoing investments worth 21 million lei.
Darău called on the management to deliver measurable results, including increasing production, maintenance, technology transfer, and the number of specialized jobs in Romania. IAR Brașov cooperates with Airbus Helicopters and is involved in the H225M helicopter program, in the context of defense investments and the SAFE program.
