The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has announced that the German authorities have decided to extend border controls for a period of six months, starting from March 15, 2026. The MFA recommends that Romanian citizens consult the official websites of the German authorities for updated information.

Additionally, Romanians who are in or intend to travel to Germany can request consular assistance through diplomatic missions and consular offices in the country. The MFA reminds that the application 'Travel Informed' is available to provide useful information to Romanian citizens traveling abroad.
