The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Țoiu, announced that the MFA will increase the number of operators to handle the increased calls caused by security developments in the Middle East. Țoiu emphasized that, despite the redirection of calls to the central office in Bucharest, an additional human resource is necessary, especially in times of crisis.

The MFA's priorities include ensuring the safety of Romanian citizens in the region, with no reported cases of injuries. The Ministry maintains the recommendation to avoid non-essential travel and to follow local instructions. Romanian diplomatic missions are in contact with approximately 1,000 Romanian citizens, prioritizing assistance for minors.

Additionally, Țoiu announced high consular alert levels for various countries in the region, recommending the postponement of travel until the security situation improves.
