The Ministry of Environment has submitted for public debate a draft Government Decision aimed at modernizing the weather warning system by expanding the network of meteorological stations. The project provides for the installation of 300 automatic meteorological stations and 100 automatic agrometeorological stations, with the goal of providing more accurate data and rapid warnings in the context of the increased frequency of extreme weather phenomena. The Minister of Environment, Diana Buzoianu, emphasized that this initiative will allow authorities and citizens to respond more effectively to weather conditions, thus protecting lives and property. The project, with a total value of approximately 324.6 million lei, will be financed from European funds and the state budget. The news includes a modern digital platform and the transition from color-coded warnings to precise warnings over short time intervals, based on real-time data, thus increasing the safety of citizens.
