The Ministry of Education has adopted an ordinance that unblocks competitions for filling teaching positions in pre-university and higher education.

The Ministry of Education announced that, in the Government meeting on April 16, an emergency ordinance was approved that unlocks competitions for filling teaching positions in state pre-university education, as well as for university assistants. This measure is essential for ensuring the necessary human resources for the 2026-2027 school and university year, guaranteeing continuity in the educational system.

The ordinance modifies Law no. 141/2025, establishing the legal framework for hiring teaching staff, which can be done through various means, including fixed-term or indefinite contracts. The adoption of this ordinance is crucial, as the contracts of teaching staff employed on a fixed-term basis will expire on August 31, 2026, and the measure ensures continuity in education.
