The Minister of the Environment, Diana Buzoianu, announced that she will send the report of the Control Body regarding the Arad Forestry Directorate, where director Teodor Țigan received a retirement bonus of 100,000 euros, to the High Court of Cassation and Justice and the management of Romsilva. The report highlights an accelerated financial decline of the directorate, with losses of 15 million lei in 2024 and 12 million lei in the first six months of 2025. Buzoianu emphasized that fictitious investments were identified, such as a forest road for which 280,000 lei were paid, but which does not exist.
It was also found that Țigan continued to be employed after he requested retirement, and the bonus was illegally approved by a subordinate, not by his superior. The minister stated that Romsilva will have to recover the salaries and bonuses paid illegally, emphasizing that these irregularities have been tolerated for years, severely affecting the budget and performance of the institution.
