During a debate organized by the Education Committee in the Romanian Senate, the Minister of Education, Mihai Dimian, was caught absorbed by his mobile phone while a student, Ilinca, spoke about the issues in the education system. Ilinca, a fifth-grade student, expressed the pressure felt from the school and teachers, with tears in her eyes.

Dimian provided explanations, mentioning that he was responding to urgent matters related to important bills, including teacher salaries and the digitalization of research. He emphasized that he had been working intensely, starting at 2:00 AM, to prepare for the debate and to meet deadlines related to the PNRR. Ilinca's intervention was emotional, as she spoke about the pressure and judgment her peers feel, calling for a more empathetic approach from teachers.
