The magistrates decided on Wednesday in the case of Dinu Iancu Sălăjanu, allowing him to return to the leadership of the Sălaj County Council, but maintaining judicial control over him. He had been placed under judicial control last week.
Sălăjanu is accused by DNA prosecutors of having influenced the awarding of public contracts by placing biased experts on the bid evaluation committees. These experts were, according to the accusations, intermediaries of the companies that aspired to win the tenders. In the same case, a subordinate of Sălăjanu, an executive director at the Directorate for Investment and Public Programs, suspected of receiving bribes to favor certain companies, was also granted permission to return to work. The magistrates' decisions are final.
