Military transport in Europe faces major difficulties, such as weakened bridges, narrow tunnels, and excessive bureaucracy. Projects like Rail Baltica aim to integrate the Baltic states into the European network to facilitate the rapid movement of heavy equipment. NATO is planning to move 200,000 soldiers and thousands of vehicles from the USA, Canada, and the UK to Eastern Europe, but every logistical aspect must function perfectly.

Quick political decisions are essential, especially in crisis situations, such as the concentration of Russian troops at the border with Ukraine. Complications arise due to the need to cross countries not involved in the conflict, adhering to various customs and legislative rules. Officials are working on a 'military Schengen' to standardize these rules, but cybersecurity challenges remain. The goal is to reduce the mobilization time from 45 days to 3-5 days.

In this context, the Romanian Minister of Defense emphasized that the army is prepared, but did not provide clear details about the defense capacity in the face of an invasion. Additionally, the withdrawal of American troops from Romania complicates the situation, and former President Băsescu warned that Romania must be able to defend itself for two months until NATO forces arrive.
