The Secretary of State in the Ministry of Transport, Irinel Ionel Scrioșteanu, announced that the last element of the bridge over the Siret River, part of the Braila-Galati Expressway (DEx6), is being installed. This bridge will be the most complex in Romania, after the one over the Danube.
Scrioșteanu specified that, by the end of the year, the new expressway will be opened to traffic, according to the contractor's commitment. Recently, a metal deck element was installed, and now the central element, weighing 147 tons, is being installed. The works include the assembly of a heavy-duty crane to facilitate its installation. The complex of bridges on the DEx6 route has a total length of 1.8 kilometers. The investment value is 449.4 million lei, funded by European funds. The road will connect the provinces of Moldova and Muntenia, providing an alternative for heavy traffic on DN22B.
