The interim mayor of the Capital, Stelian Bujduveanu, stated that he will check the status of the request for the installation of a traffic light at the pedestrian crossing in Berceni, where a fatal accident occurred, emphasizing the importance of taking effective measures to prevent road risks.
Stelian Bujduveanu, the interim mayor of the Capital, spoke about a tragic accident in which a woman lost her life, and a nearly 2-year-old child was injured. He emphasized that the role of the authorities is to prevent such incidents, not just to intervene after they have occurred.
Bujduveanu promised that he would check the status of the police request for the installation of a traffic light at the pedestrian crossing where the accident occurred, mentioning that the investment procedures do not proceed quickly.
He also announced that a decision prohibiting the circulation of garbage trucks, supply vehicles, and couriers during peak hours will come into effect in mid-November, a measure aimed at improving traffic in Bucharest.
Following the accident, the driver was placed in preventive custody for manslaughter and bodily harm through negligence. Bujduveanu emphasized the need for increased attention from traffic participants to prevent incidents.
