The High Court of Cassation and Justice (ICCJ) will make a decision on Monday in the case of Senator Paul Ciprian Pintea, who appealed the decision of a one year and five months suspended prison sentence for driving a vehicle without a license.

Senator Paul Ciprian Pintea was caught driving again in November 2025, having his driving rights suspended, which led to the opening of a new criminal case. The court decided to merge the sentences, and Pintea will serve a sentence of one year and five months, with a suspension on a two-year probation period, and will perform unpaid community service. Additionally, the senator was sanctioned for refusing to stop at the police signal. Pintea, elected on the POT lists, has also been criticized for irregularities in his official CV.
