The National Museum of Romanian History (MNIR) hosted, between April 22 and May 3, an exhibition dedicated to the helmet from Coțofenești and the Dacian bracelets, attracting over 9,000 visitors.
These exceptional pieces were recovered after the theft in 2025 from the Dutch Drents museum.
In the upcoming period, the helmet will undergo non-invasive investigations, including macroscopic and microscopic examinations, X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, and photogrammetry, to assess its conservation state and document its details. These analyses will allow for a comparison of the current state with that prior to the theft, thus facilitating the restoration process.
The Dacian gold bracelets, which do not require intervention, will remain on display in the permanent exhibition Historical Treasure.
