The Romanian government, through interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan and interim Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, is analyzing legislative measures to control fuel prices, following a meeting with the main operators in the market. The purpose of the consultations is to assess the current situation of the market, identify supply and price risks, as well as analyze the feasibility of protective measures for the population and the economy.

The executive will monitor market developments and will adapt the institutional response based on price fluctuations. In the current context, fuel prices have increased significantly, with diesel reaching 9.54 lei/liter at certain stations, while gasoline varies between 8.62 and 8.68 lei/liter. Romania ranks first in the EU regarding fuel price increases, and the authorities emphasize the importance of rapid adaptation to the dynamics of the energy market.
