The governing coalition has decided that the Government will assume responsibility in Parliament for a package of administrative reform, accompanied by a package of economic recovery measures proposed by the PSD. The two initiatives will be adopted separately to avoid their blockage at the Constitutional Court. It was also agreed to establish a committee made up of representatives from all parties in the coalition and mayors, which will draft the budget project for 2026. This committee, led by Deputy Prime Minister Tanczos Barna, will discuss the reduction of funds allocated from VAT and income taxes, which could put pressure on local budgets. During the meeting, statements made by the Minister of Defense, Radu Miruță, regarding the deployment of troops to Greenland were also addressed, to which UDMR leader Kelemen Hunor responded jokingly. Additionally, the president of PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, criticized the management of the Mercosur agreement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and requested further explanations.
