The helmet from Coțofenești and the two Dacian bracelets recovered after being stolen last year from the Drents Museum in the Netherlands are returning to the country, announced the Ministry of Culture. The Dacian treasure is expected to be displayed at the History Museum.

The repatriation of the artifacts will be carried out by air, with a team of restorers and Romanian officials overseeing the transport.

The National Museum of Romanian History intends to organize a temporary exhibition to present the recovered pieces before restoration.

"For the first time since their return to the country, the helmet from Coțofenești and the two Dacian bracelets will be able to be seen again at the National Museum of Romanian History, during an event organized on April 21, at 19:30. The moment will also be presented through the press, and later the artifacts will become accessible to the general public, both at the headquarters and in the regions of the country, through a dedicated campaign," the Ministry of Culture's statement shows.

The golden helmet from Coțofenești, stolen from a museum in the Netherlands, has been recovered, along with two Dacian bracelets, one of which remains missing.

The Romanian government announced that it will recover from the insurance of 5.7 million euros collected for the stolen items the costs of any repairs and the value of the unrecovered bracelet.

The criminal process against the suspects of the theft, three men from the Netherlands, is ongoing, as they are accused of theft and destruction of the museum. Investigators have established that the suspects entered the museum using an explosion to gain access.
