A crack in a gas pipe outside the building in Sector 5 of the Capital is the main hypothesis considered by investigators in the case of the explosion that led to the death of three people. Cristian Gheorghe, the director of the Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Romanian Police, stated that a crack was found in the gas transport column, and the collected samples will be analyzed by experts.
So far, there is no preliminary expert report, and the connection between the pipe crack and a possible short circuit will only be established after the analysis by INSEMEX is completed. The investigation lasted five days, and the gas was not operational at the time of the explosion, according to available data. Distrigaz mentioned that the seal placed a day before was broken before the incident.
