The first conclusions of the investigations regarding the explosion at the Lugoj Police headquarters. What INSEMEX experts say.

Research conducted by INSEMEX Petroșani experts, the criminal investigation department of IPJ Timiș in collaboration with ISU Banat and representatives of the gas distribution company, after the explosion at the Lugo Police headquarters, identified a crack in the gas pipeline on the main column, which led to the accumulation of gas and, subsequently, to the deflagration.

Excavation activities will continue to check for any additional defects in the gas pipeline, and their remediation will be carried out by the gas supply company, to resume distribution safely.

We remind that an explosion occurred on Wednesday in an annex where the Criminal Record and Operational Evidence Office was functioning, injuring a 37-year-old employee who suffered burns. Additionally, the head of the Traffic Police was also injured, and another officer suffered a panic attack. The explosion affected a police vehicle, another car, and the windows of five nearby apartments.

The Europol Union criticized in this context the leadership of the Romanian Police and the heads of the county inspectorates for the constant neglect of the refurbishment of police headquarters.
