Alstom's first metro train has arrived in Bucharest, but it will only be able to run with passengers once tests are completed and homologation has been obtained.

The train, named "Giurgiu", is part of a batch of 13 trains destined for Magistrale 5, purchased by Metrorex under a contract signed in December 2020. Each train has six carriages, 114 meters long and a capacity of 1,200 passengers. Production of the trains has been delayed, although the contract was awarded at the end of 2020.
