Military prosecutors have closed the case of General Nicolae Crețu, former commander of Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base, accused of intellectual forgery.

The General Staff of the Defense announced that military prosecutors have closed the criminal case of Air Force General Nicolae Crețu, who was investigated for intellectual forgery.

He, in his capacity as commander of the 57th Air Base 'Captain Aviator Constantin Cantacuzino', was accused of falsifying a unit daily order, attempting to transfer the responsibility of an incident, a fire in a barrack, to his subordinate. The closure of the case was communicated to the public considering the significant interest generated by this matter.

The General Staff of the Defense emphasized respect for the independence of the judicial authorities and reaffirmed its commitment to legality, integrity, and transparency in carrying out its activities. The institution also mentioned that it will continue to support the competent authorities according to the law.
