During discussions with Minister Cătălin Predoiu, Europol union representatives highlighted the risks of changing the retirement age, which could lead to the departure of over 17,000 employees from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, exacerbating the 23% personnel deficit and putting the system at risk of collapse. Additionally, the criteria for promotion and the retention of police officers employed in the context of refugees from Ukraine were discussed. Predoiu assured that there would be no layoffs, and the reform of the institution would be carried out through consultations.
