The Minister of Internal Affairs, Cătălin Predoiu, stated that the structural and functional reconfiguration of the ministry will not lead to layoffs, ensuring that no employee will be left without a job. Following discussions with trade unions, Predoiu emphasized that any measures that could affect staff will be communicated publicly. The consultations addressed topics such as road safety, optimizing responses to 112 calls, and the situation at the border, in the context of joining the Schengen area. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has set October 29 as the deadline for union proposals, and the completion of the reconfiguration is planned for December 15. The ministry reaffirms its commitment to open and constructive social dialogue, aiming to modernize the institution for the benefit of citizens.
