The European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO) has launched an investigation regarding the rehabilitation works of the North Station, according to statements by the Minister of Transport, Ciprian Șerban.
He mentioned that, in case the situation does not improve, he could also send the control body to check the status of the works. Although the works were supposed to start more than two years ago, progress is slow, and officials are passing the responsibility around.
The minister emphasized that discussions regarding the update of the prices are ongoing, but he did not provide clear details about the start date of the works.
In the context of the campaign "Romania is missing the train", conducted by Euronews, the indifference of the authorities towards the use of European funds intended for the rehabilitation of the North Station has been highlighted.
