This will be the fourth attempt to dismiss the President of the Commission, reflecting the persistent dissatisfaction of some members of Parliament regarding the current leadership. The main reason for the initiative is the challenge to the EU-Mercosur trade agreement (a pact between the EU and the countries in the Mercosur bloc in South America). In order for the motion to be debated and voted on, it needs the support of at least 10% of the MEPs. The vote will be a crucial moment for the future of the leadership of the European Commission.
