Diana Șoșoacă has lost immunity in the European Parliament. She can now be investigated by the Romanian authorities.

European parliamentarians decided on Tuesday to lift the immunity of MEP SOS Diana Șoșoacă, following a request from the General Prosecutor's Office of Romania, which accuses her of committing several offenses, including legionary propaganda.

The vote was not electronic, but by raising hands, and the majority was clear, so electronic verification was not necessary.

Diana Șoșoacă has been charged with the following offenses:

4 offenses of illegal deprivation of liberty

4 offenses of promoting, in public, the cult of persons convicted of committing crimes of genocide against humanity and war crimes, as well as the act of promoting, in public, fascist, legionary, racist, or xenophobic ideas, concepts, or doctrines

promoting, in public, in any way, antisemitic ideas, concepts, or doctrines

denial, contestation, approval, justification, or evident minimization, by any means, in public, of the Holocaust or its effects
