The commissioners of the National Environmental Guard imposed fines totaling 230,000 lei following inspections carried out in the Danube Delta, where they discovered several serious irregularities. Among these are seven specimens of sturgeon of the species beluga found in a refrigerated container of an operator in the HoReCa sector, as well as the illegal discharge of wastewater directly into the Danube River. The authorities ordered the confiscation of the fish, requested the intervention of the Danube Delta Police, and will file a criminal complaint against an economic operator who was illegally using water resources without the necessary permits.
