The Black Angus cattle farm operated by EAC Angus Danubius SRL, an investment estimated at approximately €6 million and developed by Gigi Nețoiu in Cetate commune, Dolj County, was fined 40,000 lei by inspectors from the Jiu Basin Water Administration.
The sanction was imposed following an inspection to verify whether the company had complied with the measures ordered during an earlier inspection. According to Apele Române Jiu, the operator failed to meet the obligations regarding compliance within the established deadline and did not comply with all requirements in the field of water management.
“The measures ordered by water management inspectors are not optional,” the institution’s representatives said. As the company’s representative was not present, the inspection and sanction report was posted at the company’s headquarters in Cetate commune.
This is the second major episode in 2026 between the farm and the water management authorities. In February, a joint inspection ended with a 120,000-lei fine and the suspension of operations, on the grounds that the farm did not hold a water management permit. The dispute also arose against the backdrop of floods that affected the farm. Nețoiu estimated the damage at more than €200,000, but Apele Române rejected claims that the institution’s measures had caused the flooding of the farm.
The farm covers approximately 180 hectares and had the objective of reaching a herd of 1,500 Black Angus cattle, with plans for expansion.
