Octavian Schen, director of the State Mint since 2010, has a monthly income of 56,787 lei in 2024, double the salary of Romania's president. Schen explained that his income reflects negotiations based on performance indicators and emphasized the need to provide a living for his family. In 2024, the allowances of the Mint's employees increased significantly and those of the Board of Directors tripled, which contributed to the Director's increased income.
