The Competition Council has expressed concerns regarding the acquisition of Cargus by Sameday, part of the eMAG group. The authority fears that this transaction could constrain the affiliated merchants of the eMAG platform to predominantly use Sameday's services. Other identified issues include risks for clients who exclusively collaborate with Cargus, who may face rapid contractual changes affecting their operations.
Additionally, the strengthening of Sameday's locker network could discourage competition in the market. The Council also pointed out possible harm to competitors due to Cargus's AWB issuance system, which provides information about products and merchants. Sameday must propose commitments to address these concerns before receiving approval for the transaction.
