The Competition Council authorized the merger of the French cooperatives Maïsadour and Euralis, which operate in Romania mainly in the agricultural seeds market, but also in the duck meat and poultry farming sectors. The transaction involves integrating the activities and structures of the two groups into a new cooperative entity.
The competition authority analyzed the impact of the transaction on the Romanian market and concluded that the merger does not create significant obstacles to competition. The Council identified no serious concerns regarding the compatibility of the transaction with a normal competitive environment.
Euralis is present in Romania through Lidea Romania SRL and Istris SRL, companies active in the crop seeds sector. The group also has limited sales of duck meat products. Maïsadour operates through Maisadour Semences Romania SRL, active in the same market, and markets duck meat products and products for poultry farming.
Internationally, the two cooperatives operate in the production and marketing of seeds, agriculture, nutrition and animal farming, as well as in the processing of products of animal origin.
The decision will be published after confidential information has been removed.
