Florentina Ioniță-Radu, the commander of the Central Military Hospital 'Dr. Carol Davila', has been placed under judicial control by DNA prosecutors, with a bail of 1 million lei. She has also been prohibited from exercising the function of head of the hospital. Prosecutors accuse her of having signed documents in place of the Minister of Defense between 2020-2023, which led to the payment of additional salaries and undue benefits for people in her entourage.

The investigation revealed that Florentina Ioniță-Radu and her close associates allegedly obtained considerable sums through European projects, signing decisions and procedures outside of their legal duties, thus generating unjustified salary payments of millions of lei. She is being investigated for usurpation of function, abuse of office, and complicity in abuse of office.
