The Dicasterial Clerks' Union announced that it will block activity in the courts and prosecutor's offices in Romania starting September 1, in protest against the new version of the salary law.
Union members complain about the reduction of the reference value to 4,000 lei, which would lead to a decrease in the income of specialized auxiliary staff. In a statement, the union criticized the fact that the project was delivered to political parties without their involvement, accusing the authorities of secrecy.
They accuse interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan and interim Minister of Labor, Dragoș Pîslaru, of responsibility for the form of the project. The union also contests the formula for transitional compensation, arguing that it will lead to a decrease in the purchasing power of clerks. The protest will continue indefinitely if the amendments are not revised, warning that Romania could remain without Justice.
