The Capital City Hall has put a taxation project up for public debate that provides rates of 0.1% for residential buildings owned by individuals and 0.2% for non-residential buildings. The taxable value varies depending on the type of construction and utility, with land taxes ranging from 15,427 lei/ha in Zone A.
Owners of hybrid cars would benefit from a 30% reduction in the car tax, while taxes for vehicles with larger engines will increase significantly. The project also includes fees for parking, organizing events, and filming in public spaces, with varying rates. Criticisms have arisen regarding the taxes on housing and inconsistencies in the car tax. Bucharest residents can submit proposals until December 22, 2025.
