The Capital City Hall proposes a significant update of rents for the housing managed by the Real Estate Fund Administration, establishing a base rate of 8 lei/sqm, applicable to both living space and auxiliary areas. This modification, which will be debated in the General Council meeting, could generate considerable increases in rents, which have not been adjusted since 2007.
For example, a studio could cost 980 lei in area A, compared to 115 lei currently.
The project also includes a framework rental contract for five years, with stricter conditions for extension and termination.
Mayor Ciprian Ciucu estimates that, with these changes, rental income could increase from 50 million lei to 500 million lei annually.
