The Capital City Hall, under the leadership of the new general mayor Ciprian Ciucu, announced the obtaining of a loan of 50 million lei from the Government, intended to cover the debts of Termoenergetica. This amount is crucial, considering that, without it, the company risks going into insolvency in January. Ciucu had a meeting with Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan and Finance Minister Alexandru Nazare to discuss the serious financial situation of the City Hall. The mayor emphasized that, in the last three years, the City Hall has lost over 2 billion lei from income tax, which has severely affected the local budget. Additionally, a mechanism was discussed through which the City Hall could take over Electrocentrale București (ELCEN) in 2026, to improve the management of public utility services.
