The Bucharest Court of Appeal qualified the statements of judge Ionel Laurențiu Beșu, who spoke with Recorder journalists, as "defamatory and without factual coverage." In a press release, the Court suggests that Laurențiu Beșu could be an undercover agent and calls for an urgent clarification of his status.

It emphasizes that the independence of the judiciary cannot be invoked by those who undermine it and that the judge's statements are contradicted by official documents. The Court states that Beșu's delegation was not extended for professional reasons and accuses a "dangerous mystification of the truth." The statement reiterates that justice should not be used as a tool of intimidation and that verifications must be carried out by competent institutions, not through media pressure.
