Between November 17-23, border police in Giurgiu conducted checks on DN 5, where they stopped buses and cars coming from Turkey. Following the inspections, they discovered 3,933 articles of clothing, footwear, leather goods, and perfumes, all marked with names of protected brands, but suspected of being counterfeit. The individuals involved, Romanian, Turkish, and Moldovan citizens, could not present documents of origin for the respective products. The goods were seized for further investigation, and the police initiated an inquiry for the crime of circulating counterfeit products, with legal solutions to be proposed by the prosecutor's office.
