The National Bank of Romania (BNR) has issued a warning regarding a false document titled 'Increased Danger Regarding Legal Security – Power of Attorney with Full Authority', dated 03.11.2025. BNR emphasizes that it has not signed or approved such a document and that it has no legal authority to issue warnings regarding notarial acts. Although the document contains real information about BNR's structures and employees, its use was made without the institution's consent, aiming to mislead the public.

BNR reminds that all official communications are available exclusively on its website and through official communication channels. Any document circulating outside these channels should be treated with caution, and the distribution of false documents constitutes crimes under the Penal Code. BNR has notified the competent authorities to investigate this attempt at disinformation and recommends the public not to interact with the false document.
