The 'Alternative 2002' union within Azomureș has decided to cancel the protest rally scheduled for Wednesday, in front of the Ministry of Energy, in the context of the imminent closure of the Chemical Plant in Târgu Mureș.

Emil Almășan, the union leader, explained that the decision was made due to the lack of interlocutors at the ministry and the current political uncertainties. Although the rally has been canceled, the union remains vigilant and ready to react in case the situation does not improve. Currently, approximately 800 of the 921 employees of Azomureș are on technical unemployment, and the union leader hopes that recent discussions with Romgaz regarding a possible acquisition of the industrial platform will lead to the resumption of activity. The unionists are demanding measures to protect jobs and a real dialogue with the authorities to avoid the closure of the plant, which is the only producer of fertilizers in Romania.
