'Aurel Vlaicu' University (UAV) in Arad has initiated a criminal complaint after an external audit revealed irregularities in the management of the institution under the leadership of former rector Ramona Lile.
The current rector, Teodor Florin Cilan, stated that the institution is facing serious accusations that affect its image and the trust of the community. Cilan emphasized the need to address these issues firmly to prevent similar situations from occurring in the future. The audit identified suspicions of legal violations, and UAV has reported this to the Prosecutor's Office near the Arad Court.
The audit was requested following controversies related to the rector election process and the fact that, at the time of candidacy for a new term, Ramona Lile had her right to compete suspended due to a plagiarism scandal.
