He also mentioned his commitment to environmental protection, being known as the "Green Patriarch." Antonio Salameh, the Chairman of the Foundation, presented the award in the name of his father, the founder of the Foundation, highlighting the values promoted by it. The President of the Senate, Mircea Abrudean, highlighted the significance of Bartolomeu I's presence in Romania as a symbol of the unity of Orthodoxy.
