Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan inspected on Friday the two sections of the A3 Transylvania Highway in Bihor County: Suplacu de Barcău - Chiribiș (26.35 km) and Chiribiș - Biharia (28.5 km). The first section is 60% completed, while the second is 30%, with completion deadlines set for autumn 2026 and May 2027. These sections will ensure the continuity of the highway up to the border with Hungary, facilitating access from the Republic of Moldova and northern Transylvania to the European Union. Ilie Bolojan mentioned that in 2024, two sections in Cluj, Sălaj, and Bihor counties will be completed, adding 70 km of operational highway. He also emphasized the importance of the 1.8 km viaduct, which will be the second longest in Europe. The works are carried out by Construcții Erbașu and a partnership of firms, with a physical progress of 60% and 30% respectively, and the total value of the project exceeds 1.6 billion lei. The funding comes from European funds and the state budget. The Prime Minister assured that the works will be completed according to the established deadlines.
