The A1 Bucharest-Pitești highway, the first highway in Romania, will be widened to three lanes in each direction, and CNAIR has launched the tender for the feasibility study, the cost of which is 30 million lei. The project, which was canceled in 2023, is being resumed in the context of increased traffic generated by work on the Sibiu-Pitești highway and the Craiova-Pitești express road. Traffic analyses have shown that the current capacity is exceeded, which is why this extension is needed.
