On January 7, 2026, a technical incident occurred on the Periș – Buftea railway section, at railway kilometer 22+110, during works carried out by a contractor. This accidentally severed the signaling cables, which led to changes in railway traffic on this section, which is now operating on a clear track. Passenger trains experienced significant delays, some exceeding 100 minutes, and in certain cases reaching 170-180 minutes both at arrival and departure. The specialized staff of the National Railway Company CFR SA is mobilized to remedy the situation and restore the operation of the affected installations, ensuring that traffic is conducted under safe conditions.
