TAROM initially announced the suspension of flights from Bucharest to Belgrade for the period of April 9 – May 10, according to the publication EX – YU Aviation News. The company had three flights scheduled per week to the capital of Serbia. Economica.net requested a statement from TAROM regarding the reasons for this suspension, but has not yet received a response.

Recently, TAROM extended the suspension of flights for the month of May, when only two flights are scheduled, on May 12 and 19. Starting in June, the company will return to its normal schedule of three flights per week. Although TAROM will not operate flights in May, its partner Air Serbia will maintain 11 weekly flights, using larger aircraft, an Embraer 190, on five of these flights. TAROM had previously estimated a 10% decrease in the number of tickets on routes to Belgrade and Sofia due to fuel supply restrictions imposed by Lukoil, as a result of American sanctions.
