Swedish rapper Haval Khalil will be extradited today from Romania to Sweden, after Romanian authorities approved his surrender to Swedish investigators. He was taken out of custody and transported to Otopeni Airport, where he is due to be handed over to police officers who arrived from Sweden.
Haval Khalil was arrested in Romania last week after Swedish authorities requested his arrest. The rapper, who had been living in Romania for approximately three years and continued his music career there, agreed before Romanian judges to be extradited.
Swedish investigators suspect him of involvement in an organized crime group that they say recruited children and trained them to carry out contract killings. Khalil is being investigated in connection with several shootings in Stockholm and is accused of attempted murder, aggravated threats and blackmailing members of a rival gang.
The group’s name is also associated with a shooting that took place in September 2024 in a neighborhood in southern Stockholm. At the time, a 15-year-old allegedly fired at a home where a musical artist lived. Prosecutors are targeting the rapper for attempted murder, although he allegedly did not participate directly in the attack. The extradition is taking place a few days after the Romanian court’s decision.
