The National Alliance of Student Organizations in Romania (ANOSR) is announcing protests on 26 June 2025 in reaction to the Government's plans to cut funding for student scholarships, thus decreasing the number of beneficiaries. The new proposal envisages that scholarships will be linked to 10% of the net minimum wage, which would reduce the amount allocated from 370 lei to 220 lei per student. The ANOSR stresses that such measures will accentuate inequalities in education and limit access for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. The protests will take place in several cities, including Bucharest, Timisoara and Cluj-Napoca.
