Dan Perciun, the Minister of Education, announced that scholarships for students will significantly increase in 2026, with the highest scholarships awarded to young people studying in Education and Medicine Sciences, reaching 4,565 lei per month. Students in STEM and STEAM fields, including Architecture, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and IT, will benefit from scholarships of up to 2,855 lei. Additionally, scholarships for all undergraduate students will be increased: category I will rise from 1,360 to 1,905 lei, category II from 1,160 to 1,625 lei, and category III from 1,065 to 1,490 lei. The value of the scholarships will depend on academic performance, with category I awarded to students with an average of at least 8.5, category II to those with a minimum of 8.0, and category III to those with an average of at least 7.
